Rex was involved in an auto accident on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Chaffee County, CO while on spring break with his friends from UNT. He was immediately transferred by ambulance to Colorado Springs Memorial Central, level I trauma center. He was then taken into a successful 4 hour surgery to remove a subdural hematoma and repair his skull. He spent eight days in trauma ICU pod, and is now in the neural stepdown unit where he is receiving the best medical care available.
