Dear Family & Friends,

As most of you know, Rett was in a bad car accident early Sunday morning, May 7, 2017. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car. His guardian angels were definitely with him, as he survived the crash, and luckily, there was a passerby shortly after that called 911. Rett was transferred to the nearest hospital by Flight for Life, and is now in the ICU in critical condition at Aurora in Oconomowoc, a level 2 trama hospital. He has suffered severe head trama, face and skull fractures, numerous broken ribs, collapsed lungs, a cracked liver and spleen, etc.  He is intubated as his lungs cannot function fully on their own, and is on a number of medications, pain medications, and sedatives to keep his bodily functions in line. Brain activity level is still unknown due to the extent of the head trauma and level of sedation, but the initial CATscan did not show any bleeding in the brain. He is very lucky to be alive, but he does have a long road ahead of him. The team of doctors and nurses have been great, and as you all know, Rett is a fighter, so we are hopeful and confident that he will get through this. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone for your love, prayers, and support, we cannot even begin to express how grateful we are and how much it means to Rett and our family. Please keep the prayers coming!
Love from the Schenauer Family
