Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Yesterday Renee was in a bad car accident involving four cars and the car was totaled.  The airbags deployed.  Luckily she walked out of the car but then went to the ER to be checked out.  Aside from a lot of bruising from the airbags, they did CT scans and x-rays and found a compression fracture in her T5 disk (between her shoulder blades) and a fracture at the top of her left tibia bone where her shin connects to her knee.  She is in a lot of pain and they kept her overnight to help manage the pain. Today the doctors want to do a MRI of her back and are recommending a surgical procedure to inject a cement-like substance in her T5 to stabilize the disc.  We are waiting for more information after the MRI if they will want to do the procedure and when it will be.  We will post updates here.

We anticipate that once she is released from the hospital she will have nursing at home to assist until she is able to get around more without assistance.

We decided to create a site on Caring Bridge so we can post updates here versus individually updating everyone so that we can help Renee get as much rest as possible and help focus on her recovery.  Please post any messages of love and support here and we will make sure she sees them!
