After being diagnosed with  Leukemia Wednesday June 28th 2017 the road to recovery started immediately. They asked me to be at Mayo Clinic in Rochester the following day so we packed our bags and traveled the 7 hours unsure at that point what type of Leukemia I had or what course of treatment I would receive. Over the next several days the doctors retested my bone marrow and blood and diagnosed me with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Due to my blast percentage (the amount of immature white blood cells in my blood) being at 25% the doctor's informed me that we caught it very early on. The threshold for Leukemia is 20% and with treatment starting right away I have been told that they believe I will come out of this in full remission. I have needed several blood transfusions due to my hemoglobin count being low but I am thankful each day that I have some of the best doctor's in the world treating me. With my family and friends at my side, God and my faith in my heart, and my strength to fight I will beat this disease and come out stronger than ever!
