Reid is dealing with prostate cancer that has metastisized to his bones. This is complicated by Churg-Strauss, a vascular and immune syndrome that makes it harder to take on cancer treatments, as well as leaving him susceptible to other problems.
Reid's cancer kicked back in in mid-October 2012, when we all thought it was under control. "Mr Active" complains that it's cutting into his tennis time.
After a November-December 2012 side trip to Buffalo General to take care of a few complications, Reid came back at home to the lake Canada to work on fighting the cancer again. Having all the kids and grandkids visit over the summer helped!
In fall of 2013, Reid's cancer decided to ignore the treatments and come back aggressively. After more hospital time and a lot of thought, Reid has moved to a Buffalo hospice center.
