On December 22, 2015 I went to a doctor's appointment to get a referral for my back pain. I asked if it was time to schedule my annual mammogram because I felt something was "not right". Thanks to aggressive action by my primary physician, I was scheduled for a mammogram on December 24th. That led to an ultrasound, a biopsy, and a confirmation of a cancer diagnosis on December 29, 2015. So begins the journey to eradicate IBC (inflammatory breast cancer), from my body.
"Why me?" is never a question I entertained, I believe we live in an imperfect world, and bad things DO happen to good people. I believe that everything that happens to us in this life is an opportunity to let our light shine for Christ, I am a Christian, I believe in a loving, compassionate God who is available to us any time we call on Him. HE will guide and direct the decisions, choices, doctors, nurses, and other care-givers who will guide me through this journey. HE will go before me, HE will strengthen me, and HE will hold me in HIS hand every step of the way.
I may never know why God has allowed cancer to come into my life, but what I do know is that He will paint beauty with the ashes of this awful disease, My prayer is that God will be glorified through this journey... "To God be the glory, great things He IS still doing!"
