This is the story of a beautiful little girl who was born on May 9, 2008 at 11:02 pm. Within the first few minutes of her life, our little Reese went into both respiratory and cardiac arrests. This website is to tell the powerful story of how our little Reese is fighting all of the odds and with the grace of God continues to fight each day to become stronger and healthier.

This is the story of our precious little girl that was born on May 9th at 11:02 pm. Within the first few minutes of her life, she went into both cardiac and respiratory arrests. This is the story of our strong, beautiful girl's struggle.

This has been a rough road for all three of us in the past 11 days. Reese was put on the ECMO machine on Saturday afternoon after going into another cardiac arrest. This is a life support heart and lung machine. Luckily, she was ready to be removed from it on Wednesday, May 14th. Since then, she had her ventilator removed on Friday and then put back in on Saturday because her heart couldn't handle all of the stress of the everyday heart function and the breathing function.

May 20th - Today Reese is resting comfortably. We were hoping that she would be having her PIC line put in today and her umbilical cord line removed but her veins are too little to handle that at this time. The ventilator is being slowly weaned. The doctors are hoping that her heart will be strong enough to sustain the breathing function in addition to the everyday heart function on Wednesday. We are hoping to have her sisters meet her for the first time on Wednesday evening. They are starting her on a medicine tonight to help her heart squeeze. She is being fed formula through a tube in her nose and we are sure this will help her to get stronger. Who would have thought that we would be so happy to change her first poopy diaper!! Reese is a strong little girl - we are so proud of how she continues to fight each day and become stronger and stronger.
