Olivier Lemaitre Recovery Updates

Saturday, October 2, our French wedding anniversary, Olivier was complaining of chest pains and asked us to take him to the hospital. This is very unlike him he’s never ever asked to go to the hospital. Long story short he had a massive heart attack and at first we took him to Erlanger East because it’s 1 mile from our house. They tried for four hours to get a stent into the blockage, but it was too calcified and they could not. So they took him to Erlanger downtown. There’s been a lot of ups and downs, and we didn’t know if he was going to make it from one minute to the next. The staff at Erlanger downtown has been amazing and has saved his life! They put in a pacemaker, they did open-heart surgery and took out the one artery that was 100% blocked, But that wasn’t enough, so his surgeon Dr. Shears Called to get approval to open his chest back up. Of course I said immediately do what you have to do to save Olivier. So they put in a temporary artificial heart for the right side of his heart so that it could rest and heal. Slow progress is being made and I believe it is because of the thousands of prayer warriors. Olivier means so very much to so many people. He is a Godly man and an inspiration and a rock to everyone he comes in contact with. Day by day as he progresses, we are confident that he will be back to his old self. It won’t be a quick recovery but by the grace of God’s healing hand, the love and support of everyone, and the solid love of our kids sticking together so strongly and walking through this together.. he will come out of this.
