Becca was diagnosed this summer with scoliosis. It came as a surprise to all of us since it had developed quickly. We researched many different options but because of the severity of the curve and since Becca is finished growing, we decided the best option for her situation is spinal fusion surgery. Her doctors assured us it was completely fine for her to finish her volleyball season before having the surgery and since she wants to play with her team again for her high school senior year, the time has come for the operation.
Friday, 11/25, Becca will have the surgery at Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She will most likely be in the hospital until Monday and then home. She will then be out of school for December, returning after Christmas and New Year's break. During her recovery at home she will need lots of hope and encouragement. If anyone would like to send her a note to keep her spirits up, our address is: 6 Miriam Court Strasburg, PA 17579
Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement and we will keep family and friends updated via this website. We appreciate your support and words of hope. Thank you for visiting and Happy Thanksgiving.
