Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My dad moved to North Georgia to live between my sister, Terrie,  and myself, Tammi, homes after health concerns in June 2013.  He has remained living with us since.  In June 2013, he had a blockage in his bile ducts which was removed and also had surgery to remove his gall bladder.  He recovered slowed and additional issues with his kidneys, early onset dementia, and diabetes were also prevalent.  It was determined that he remain living here where both of us could watch over his care since him living alone was not a possibility.  He had done well over the last several years but early this year we noticed changes.  We have been searching for what was going on with my dad's health for several months. In the process a small spot was found on my dad's lung.  Due to it's location it was impossible to take a biopsy.  A PET scan was done and no other activity was identified in his body.  He continued to followup with several doctors monitoring his lungs, kidneys, diabetes, dementia, etc... He has also had many tests, scans, etc... After a recent CT scan, doctors found that he had Metastatic disease of the liver.  A biopsy of the liver was done and  small cell carcinoma was confirmed.  To put in simple terms, daddy has lung cancer that has moved into his liver.
