5:30am--Up bright and early. Well, really we were all up at 4:00am! None of us (Raylene, Nan & Doug) slept well, except Dad. He was in great spirits...joking with us and then the entire staff at the Hospital when we arrived. Holding court as usual. 6:00am--Already in pre-operative surgery area. See his smiling face ready to go to surgery and as he said "get this thing over with...I have places to go and stuff to do!" 7:00am--Dr Zeeshan saunters in very casually and says hi. He looks rested and relaxed. We asked him if he had a good nights sleep and he said he had. We're all relieved. He said he'll be out to talk with us after the surgery not before 1:30pm. 7:15am--Good luck kisses and off he goes with the nice anesthesiologist to surgery. We all left feeling he was in excellent hands. We're carrying a beeper which keeps us updated on his progress during surgery. ...more updates to come on this platform as soon as we have more information.
