Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Raye Anne went in for an angiogram in Bay City on September 14, 2016. The blockage was severe enough that the doctor transferred her to St. Joseph's in Houston, where she had a triple cardiac bypass on September 16. Due to various complications, she spent time post surgery in a few different facilities (acute care and rehab) before being released. She moved to Minnesota on December 19.
The next surgery is scheduled for April 26, 2017 - an aortic bypass. There will likely be at least one other bypass surgery (legs) to follow.
We're really proud of Raye Anne -- she quit smoking cold turkey on her way to the Bay City angiogram appointment (mid-September 2016) and hasn't had a cigarette since. That was 46 years of smoking! She is looking forward to being active again and able to travel to visit kids & grandkids and to enjoy the outdoors in Minnesota (especially in the summer!).
