Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Randy was diagnosed around mid November with stage 4 cancer it has not been detected in his lymph nodes.  He is in for surgery today December 20th at North Memorial Hospital in the cities to have a section of his lower left jaw removed.  The surgeon will be doing what is called a fibula free flap which is where they will take a section of his fibula bone from the right leg along with an artery and replace they jaw bone they are removing.   It has been a long stressful month for him but, it did not slow him down he kept working on the things that he thought was important to finish to make things easier for JoAnna and myself.  He has had quite a bit of swelling and pain the last couple of weeks which has made it difficult to eat.

Randy will be in the ICU for 2-3 days and in the hospital a total of 7-10 days with a feeding tube for 14 days.  It will take about 6 weeks to heal everything and then he will have radiation for 6 weeks.

Thank you to everyone for all the loving and caring support you have given Randy along with myself and JoAnna.   For those that are finding out just now I apologize for not being able to contact you sooner.
