Randolph passed away on May 13, 2022 after a short hospital stay. We will love and miss him forever and vow to carry on his legacy.
**October, 2016**Welcome to Randolph Melichar's CaringBridge site.  We covet your prayers during this very difficult time.  Randolph began experiencing low blood pressure, increased heart rate, dehydration, low platelets, low red blood cells, low white blood cells and low sodium levels roughly three weeks ago.  His condition has significantly worsened since onset and he is now hospitalized at St. Vincents in the ICU.  The cause of his condition is unknown at this time.  The doctors are running every test imaginable in an effort to find out what is causing his body to have such an adverse response.  Please join us in prayer for a miracle of healing and recovery.  We truly appreciate the outpouring of support and love shown by our family and friends during this stressful time.
November, 2017 Update-Randolph's health has begun to steadily decline over the last six weeks. The swelling in his hands, arms, legs and feet are about 6 times the size of normal extremities. A definitive diagnosis and treatment plan remains unknown 16 months after onset. Desperately seeking a physician that could provide a diagnosis and treatment.
**June 2018-Randolph is currently hospitalized in UAB's Cardiac ICU. He has fluid around his heart and lungs, his heart has been determined to only be pumping at 35% instead of 50% and he has massive amounts of fluid collecting in his lower extremities. We are praying for answers and clear direction for the medical team and a definitive diagnosis of what is causing all of these symptoms. Please join us in prayer!
November 2021-Randolph is hospitalized at SV. He is recovering from a leg amputation surgery in CVICU. Praying for a miracle!
December 2021-Randolph has returned home after 38 days in the hospital. His right leg was amputated and he is focusing on healing and getting stronger. Thankful for the miracle that he is still with us. Please continue to pray!
