After recovering from a cold, Rand mentioned to his doctor that there was a lump on his neck that seemed to have grown recently. The swollen lymph node was biopsied and a full body scan was scheduled. On January 17th, the biopsy result showed that it was cancer, and Rand had a full body scan. The following day he and Cheryl met with the doctor who informed them that Rand had cancer of the head and neck and also two masses in his abdomen. Rand and Cheryl will be traveling to MD Anderson in Houston on January 31st.
