Hi All,
This is Randee here: Mom of Victor and Erick who are now 12 and 10 years old, and wife of Tim. Life was good here in Hopkinton until I was diagnosed with leukemia, so now I'm off on an "extended vacation" at Dana Farber/Brigham and Womens hospital to kill off uninvited mutant bad bone marrow cells.

======================================

Most of you know I am an almost 5 year breast cancer survivor. However, upon my regular follow up appointment with my oncologist in September, my blood levels were just not right. Now, five months later, after many more blood tests, bone marrow biopsies and blood transfusions, we have found that I have leukemia. This particular type of leukemia, (sAML-M4), has resulted from my original treatment and is one of the risks you take when you undergo this therapy. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few percent of people who experience this side effect. So, now I'm off on another journey to kill off the leukemia and bring back healthy bone marrow stem cells to make good blood on my own. I am incredibly thankful to all those people who give blood. They have been keeping me alive for the past month.

Feel free to read about my journey if you wish. Send me positive messages if you'd like.

Be sure to read the latest in the journal, view the photo gallery, and drop me a line in the guestbook.
