Ted and Roxanne Reeves Rally for the Reeves

Ted's Story:

Many know back in August 2022 Ted was injured while camping.  A trip to the ER with what we thought was a shoulder injury provided us with a diagnosis of Endocarditis which is an infection to his heart.  This infection traveled to his clavicle and he had surgery in Sept 2021 to remove some bone and infection.  He struggled with healing due to his diabetes and other complications.  He had another surgery in January 2022, as infection set in again.  Shortly after this they started to monitor his hemoglobin levels as they were way below normal.  After a few months of monitoring Dr's decided to do a bone marrow biopsy.  The report diagnosed him to have Multiple Myeloma - Cancer of the plasma cell which attacks the bone marrow.

Ted started his treatment early July and the plan is a 6 month series of  treatment .  He goes in once a week for cancer treatment and once a week for the clavicle wound.  Feature plans...A strong bout of Chemo and then a Bone Marrow transplant (no donor needed). Not sure what his journey beyond this will be.

He is putting on a brave face, but this cancer has made him more frequently tired and he has body aches.

Roxanne's Story:

Back in February 2022 a small lump was discovered in my right breast.  A biopsy was done and Dr suggested having lump remove, so in June I had surgery and they removed the lump.  With a positive thought of the 10% chance nothing else would be found, they did additional testing and in the end  diagnosed me with Stage 0 breast cancer - DCIS abnormal cells in the lining of the milk duct.

Roxanne started her Radiation treatment plan of 20 session each weekday which started  August 18th and the last scheduled treatment is set for Sept 15.  If all goes well after the 20 treatments, She will start a 5 year  hormone  treatment plan on a Trail basis....based on side affects.

So many obstacles to over come, but with the support of family, friends and each of our co-workers, we will survive.

My plan is to update our journey after our weekly Cancer Dr appointment held on Wednesday's.
