Regina Costa RallyforRe

In August 2017, Regina was having chest pains and went to the ER. Everything came back okay, except her liver levels. She was told to follow up with her primary care physician. In September, she was waiting for an appointment for an MRI when stomach pain forced her to go to the ER again. That night, she learned that she had an ulcer that had perforated her stomach, and even worse: her liver was covered in tumors. She had emergency surgery to repair the tear and a biopsy of the tumors on her liver. The results came back that Regina had metastatic HER2 positive breast cancer. This is unfortunately not the kind of cancer you can treat and beat with chemotherapy. Regina will be on Herceptin and Projetta indefinitely to prevent the cancer from metastasizing to other areas. Medical bills are already starting to pile up, and Regina is unable to work.
