The Morris Family planned to spend Memorial Day 2016 weekend the same way they always had; on the lake with friends, celebrating freedom in honor of America’s veterans. Good food, good friends, good times. As always, Ragan Morris (14) and her best friend Claire (14) planned to ride Papa’s jet ski up and down the river until the sun set. Those plans ended abruptly when the jet ski Ragan and Claire were on collided with another jet ski driven by two of their friends. In a New York minute, everything changed. Ragan was thrown off her jet ski and slammed head first into the other one.Claire and the other two boys realized Ragan was hurt as she floated in the water face down not moving. They quickly were able to get her turned over and two other heroes jumped in and managed to get Ragan out of the water and onto a nearby pier. She was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and was quickly airlifted by helicopter to Huntsville Hospital. The medical team there was able to stabilize her and decided she needed expert care by Pediatric Neurologists and sent her by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. After being admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, CT scans and other medical tests revealed she had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a broken arm. She has been unconscious since May 30 as the family holds vigil by her bedside.Doctors have prepared the family for “a very long road to recovery with no guarantees of success".  The family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support that has overflowed from their community and from friends around the country. The family is committed to each other and when a member is down, the other members rally around them. This horrific accident has hit particularly hard because as her mother Katherine says, “Ragan is our baby girl.” We believe Christ has a plan for her and that this didn’t take Him by surprise. “He knows the plans He has for her; plans to prosper and not to harm her. Plans to give her hope and a future”- Jeremiah 29:11As God demonstrates His remarkable healing power, Ragan Morris is going to come roaring back with an unbelievable testimony for Him! We believe she will be a great disciple for Christ and inspire people everywhere she goes.

Phil 4:13
