Raegan has been treated for Scoliosis by Dr. Pete at Shriners Hospital since 4th grade. Her spine is "S" shaped and progressed to 50 degrees which makes her a candidate for surgery. This Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30 am, she is having a spinal fusion which will include 13 vertebrae. There will be two medal rods placed on each side of her spine along with several screws and a bone graft. She will be in the hospital at Shriners for 3-4 days and will come home for a six week recovery.
As suggested, we are using Caring Bridge to to keep family and friends updated on her surgery and recovery all in one place. We appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement! We were told that this can be a difficult journey and that the Caring Bridge site helps tremendously with not only communication but especially encouragement for Raegan.
