Raegan was first diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Lobular Growth Features in her right breast on October 14, 2016.  Thanks to some friends and neighbors who  were well connected in the medical community in Houston, she was admitted as a patient at MD Anderson for 2nd opinions and further testing.  Fortunately, she tested positive for hormone receptors, meaning she will respond well to hormone therapy following surgery.  An MRI revealed a 2nd suspicious mass which was biopsied and confirmed to be malignant on Monday, November 28. The first mass measured about 2.3cm and the 2nd, less than 5mm.  These two masses are separate growths, which has prompted her - along with her surgeon -  to make a change from the original plan for a lumpectomy to move forward with a mastectomy on Tuesday, November 29.
