Raquel Adams RAdams Faith over Fear

Alright.  Let's be honest.  None of us would be visiting this site if we had our way, but here we are...so let's make the most of it!

Raquel Adams, lovingly known as Raq or Raqui, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so I'll use this site to ensure all of her family and friends have the latest and greatest information on her journey.  Here's the quick backstory to bring everyone up to speed:

- Raquel found a lump in her breast during a self-check in early May.
- Her doctor ordered a mammogram for May 14 with results that necessitated a biopsy on May 21.
- Raquel received a stage II (2) breast cancer diagnosis on May 25.
- After an additional biopsy, it was determined that she had stage III (3) cancer when it was found in her lymph node as well.

So where do we go from here??  "All the Way Up".....in my Fat Joe and Remy Ma voice!!

We're claiming Raquel's complete healing and victory.  You already know that she is the epitome of grace and strength, and this here cancer diagnosis hasn't changed that one bit.  She loves God (I mean really knows Him), adores her family (Dwayne and their boys are her world) and always reps her DST (oh to be a Delta girl!).  Literally, I was just on the phone with her and asked her how she feels, and she said "blessed beyond measure because God's got me."  He sure does....and we do too!

Raq has an aggressive treatment plan that begins on June 21 with five months of chemotherapy, followed by a lumpectomy (surgery) and radiation.  She is such a positive person, and I'm sure all the prayers and support we send her way will be a rock for her along this process.

So her journey on the road to healing has already begun.  This site will enable all who love her, a tribe I've nicknamed Raqui's Roadies, to be with her every single step of the way.  Through all the highs and not-so-highs, twists and turns....we're in this with her.

Thank you in advance for sending plenty of prayers, positive vibes and tight virtual hugs to our girl!

Side note: My name is Kira, and I'm one of Raquel's sister-soror-friends.  The least I could do to lighten the load for her and Dwayne is manage this page to keep everyone updated on how she's doing, her treatments, etc., so the two of them don't have to send a gazillion messages, calls, texts, etc.  I'll share any and all updates as Raq and Dwayne see fit.  Feel free to share this page/site with those who know her, and you can even set things up to receive notifications whenever updates are posted.
