Hello friends and family. In September 2018 at a routine doctor visit, the provider found a small lump on my thyroid. After additional testing I learned that it is thyroid cancer. On October 4, 2018, I had the left wing of my thyroid removed. Upon testing they found that the cancer had moved to my lymph nodes. On November 27, I will have the right wing of my thyroid removed. Eight weeks post second surgery I will have iodine radiation to kill any remaining cells. My prognosis is good and I’m grateful for that. However, I’ve struggled over the last two years with on-going health issues that have left me weak and unable to manage day to day tasks. I’ve had to rely on friends and family for support which has been wonderful and difficult at the same time. I’m looking forward to having this behind me and gaining greater strength and health. I’m grateful for the love and support and I’m asking for extra care and moral support as I embark on this next leg of the journey. I am SO ready to heal . There will be a calendar on this site which lists tasks or other ways to support me over the next few months. I feel very buoyed by my community of friends. Thank you. More to come.....
