On February 9, 2018, David and I received a bit of news no person wants to receive.  I have squamous cell carcinoma in my tongue.  This came after months of chasing down a reason for pain I’ve been experiencing in my tongue (of all places) and a weeklong stay in the glamorous Bridgeport Hospital for a mysterious lymph node infection.

That same day, I was seen at Yale’s Smilow Cancer hospital and it was determined I have stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma in the tongue and lymph nodes on the right side of my neck.  A later PET scan confirmed the cancer is contained to the area we expected (that’s a GREAT thing)!!!

This site was lovingly created by a group of friends to share updates on my treatment and beat down of this cancer. There is a place you can leave us messages.  There will be information on ways you can help our family through this time.

We are so blessed that God had put us in such an amazing community and location with easy access to the best medical care possible!  Please keep our family in your prayers.
