On May 13th, the day before her 89th birthday, Mom was diagnosed with an advanced, aggressive form of lymphoma and told she has just weeks to months to live. The weeks prior had been rough with several ailments, including vision issues, episodes of the chills, swollen ankles, and severe exhaustion. Then on top of it all, she ended up in the hospital after taking a terrible fall. While certainly not what any of us wanted to hear, it is good to finally know why Mom’s poor body was breaking down... all her ailments were likely due to the lymphoma.
After hearing her diagnosis and the difficult treatment options, she decided to forego further testing and any treatment. She has chosen to live out the remaining time that the Good Lord has given her in hospice care, intending to live each day the best she can, peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her beloved familyand friends.
She is grateful for the long, healthy life she has lived and feels so very blessed. She knows God is with her every step of the way and she is at peace, ready to go when he calls her to her heavenly home.
After May 17th, Mom will be at the North Memorial Residential Hospice on Bass Lake Road in Brooklyn Center. At this point she enjoys short visits with friends so please feel free to come by and spend time with her there.
We will do our best to update this site often. Thank you to all the wonderful friends who mean so much to Mom. Your love and support during this time means so much to her and to the three of us.
