On Thursday July 20th Mom fell and broke her hip, due to the pain and anxiety of the injury along with having severe emphysema, she suffered a heart attack. Because of this she has not had the surgery , the risk is too high.She is medicated and still in a great deal of pain.Her blood pressure has been on the low side since yesterday. We, that is the heart specialist Dr.Beaudette and her children have been hoping to get her input on to attempt the surgery and the high risk that she may not survive the surgery, the alternative of not doing the surgery is absolutely no better, she be medicated in constant pain and basically an invalid. I've now talked with another of her doctors who has spoken with her heart doctor (Dr.Beaudette) they feel that even though she is high risk for surgery it would be the better of the 2 options available for her. They feel the sooner the better, because of the meds she hasn't been awake enough to eat anything other than a few bites of oatmeal yesterday morning. All I know right now is that I do not want her to suffer like this and pray that she will survive the surgery and post-op recovery.
