Lloyd McKee Praying for Pastor Lloyd

First post: Mar 25, 2016 Latest post: Oct 3, 2018
Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We as a family decided that this journal would be the best way to share updates, specific prayer requests, and how God has been encouraging us throughout this journey so that you, our beloved family and friends, could join us in falling before the Throne in prayer. Well, actually, it was Jenn's idea and they unanimously elected me to maintain the site ;-) If you wish to receive updates each time we make a journal entry, you can do so by clicking "notifications" on this page and selecting what you want to receive. This will be the easiest way for us to keep everyone informed.

Pastor Lloyd McKee (my Dad) was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003. After undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy, the cancer, although never in remission, was being kept at bay. For 13 years Dad continued his medicinal treatment with little change in his cancer. Over the past few months, his Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) count has elevated back to what it was during his initial diagnosis. Recent bone and CAT scans revealed that his cancer has begun to metastasize and so new treatment plans need to take place. We knew this day would eventually come and now that it’s here, we covet your prayers.

We know that God has a perfect plan in all of this and that His grace will be sufficient for every aspect of Dad's treatment. We firmly believe that God is loving, that He is good, and that He will be with us every step of this journey.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4: “Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you: Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

With love and sincere gratitude for your prayers and encouragement,

Diana
(on behalf of the entire McKee family)
