Addyson was born on Tuesday, January 4th at 8:00 am, weighing 5lbs 15oz and 19 inches long. Addyson was born with several birth defects, some of which we knew about before she was born and others were diagnosed after she was born. Addyson is having some genetic testing done, but one way to tie her several conditions together is a syndrome called Vacterl.
Prior to birth we were aware that Addyson had some heart defects, the major one was a possible Coarctation of the Aortic Arch. Additionally, ultrasounds were showing some abnormalities in the spine. After she was born we learned she had Tracheoesophageal Fistula with Esophageal Atresia and Microtia of the Left Ear.
Currently, Addyson is in the PCICU at Helen Devos Children's Hospital.
