Ron Durham Prayers for Ron

First post: Nov 29, 2016 Latest post: Mar 5, 2017
Welcome to our Caring Bridge website for Ron Durham. Thank you for visiting! We are using this site to keep family and friends updated. Please feel free to post your support and words of hope and encouragement for Ron and for his family.

Ron’s journey began in September of 2016 when Ron wasn't feeling well, had fatigue and was experiencing pain in his leg. After several different tests, Ron went to see an oncologist at Missouri Baptist. On November 15, 2016, Ron was diagnosed with Gastro Esophageal Junction Cancer. This type of cancer in not curable and will need ongoing treatment. The cancer is located in his lymph nodes, upper abdomen/chest, liver, esophagus and some of his bones.

Ron's treatment of chemotherapy began immediately on November 22, 2016. He will receive chemotherapy every two weeks for a couple of hours. The ultimate goal of the chemotherapy is to shrink and to stop the cancer cells from growing.

Currently, Ron is very tired, has low energy, a loss of appetite and is still experiencing leg pain. He asks that you keep him close to your hearts. Please pray for courage and strength for him and for his family as he fights this disease!

"Father God, we humbly pray for all those who are fighting cancer. Give them the hope and courage they need each day. Comfort them with healing. Strengthen their family, friends and caregivers. In Jesus' name...Amen"
