After a fun day of volunteering at Mashburn Elementary on Friday,March 18, Patrick came home with a little bit of a stomach ache.  He ate dinner and took care of his usual night time routines.  He said he wasn’t feeling well and headed into bed early.  About 10:30 that night he told us he had a bad stomach ache and felt nauseous.  He threw up and we decided that he needed to sleep on our floor for the night.  He threw up again around midnight, 2:00am, 4:00am and then again at 5:15am.  Since our youngest, who also attends Mashburn, was home on Friday with a stomach bug it didn’t surprise us that Patrick may have gotten it also.  At 5:30am he sat up and told us that his stomach and back really hurt.  Tammy took him to the ER at Northside Forsyth by 6:30am Saturday morning.  By 10:30 it was determined that he was septic and they were putting in a pic line for medications.  By 1:00 we were in an ICU room and getting hooked up to lots of machines to track his health.  We have been at Northside Forsyth since 6:30am on Saturday morning and the staff here is Amazing!!!  Huge thanks to our family and friends for the out pouring of love and assistance.  Huge thanks also to our Mashburn and Otwell families for pitching and helping out with gift cards and food.
