My mother, Pam Bland, was diagnosed with stage IV gallbladder cancer 3 weeks ago. She began having pain in her back. An MRI showed a tumor in her spine and lymph nodes. She then had a biopsy and PET scan which led to her diagnosis. She is being cared for by Dr. Rhonda Gentry who is an oncologist at CARTI and close family friend from Hot Springs. She started chemotherapy today. Those of you who know her, know how very tough my mother is. She is a force like no other. She has spent her life advocating for the developmentally disabled in Arkansas. I'm so proud that she is loved by many. She is my best friend and hero. I will use this site to update friends and family on her journey through this. Our family including my father, John Bland, and brother, Brian Bland, would so appreciate prayers and words of support.
