Debbie Kroes Prayers for Debbie

First post: Mar 28, 2019 Latest post: Feb 13, 2020
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Debbie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on March 23, 2019. Stomach pains and jaundice brought her in to see her doctor who sent her for an ultrasound. They called her back to check into the ER "right way." Her children all went directly to Blodgett Hospital to be by her side. After several hours of waiting and a CAT scan, we were informed that she has a tumor at the head of her pancreas and that she has an aggressive, fast growing cancer. Her first response was, "I am at peace with this." She has been faithful, positive, and has kept her sense of humor throughout this difficult week.  She has been grateful for the love and support everyone has offered, for the flowers she has received, and for the lovely view of Fisk Lake and the church steeple that she could see from her hospital bed. After several days in the hospital and a successful GI scope procedure to place a stent for a passage way, she is now home. She has had several pokes, tests, scans and Dr. visits. We have been told that the cancer has not yet spread into other organs. Several prayers have already been answered: her procedure was successful, her jaundice is gone, she has felt relief from the pain for now, she has been assigned a top notch oncological team, she did not develop any blood clots (she was at risk in hospital for that), she was able to go home, and more. She is enjoying the fresh carrot and beet juices and other healthy nutrition to get her ready for the fight. We are feeling so covered in prayer. We can't thank you enough for that.
