Welcome to Posy's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Monday July 17th Posy set out to enjoy a bike ride on a beautiful Seattle evening along the Burke Gilman bike trail. Well, she enjoyed it until she hit an unseen pothole and went flying. She landed hard on her left shoulder and left hip. Her first ever ambulance ride took her to UW Emergency room where she learned she had a broken hip and a broken shoulder! She was admitted and the plan was to have surgery to fix the hip as soon as possible. The shoulder bones were not displaced in anyway so that fracture will heal on its own without surgery. Tuesday passed lying still with lots of pain meds and  unfortunately surgery wasn't able to be scheduled until Wednesday. Wednesday evening Posy finally had surgery. Her doctor deemed surgery a great success and was showing off x-ray image with 2 nails and 3 screws. Posy is now bionic. Surgery behind her Posy is starting rehab with her usual determination and motivation.  She will need your support! Be in touch.
