Patrick was taken by his housekeeper Jeanette to the Kaiser Hospital on March 15 as Patrick was not feeling well at home and was experiencing symptoms of a mild stroke. Thank god she did so as Patrick has suffered 2 major strokes since that time. He is experiencing paralysis on his left side and some short-term memory loss.
I’m Jeffrey and I helped Patrick with his care management needs a couple of years ago after his heart surgery. Upon his being admitted to the hospital and when he was alert and oriented, Patrick appointed me (in front of the attending medical physician) as his health care surrogate and decision maker. I accepted this role and am willing to help Patrick with his care journey. I am a licensed care administrator in CA and have more than 20 years experience in the senior care and housing field.
After Patrick passed a couple of very key test regarding his ability to eat and swallow safely as well as the ability to improve with therapy, he was admitted to Windsor Skilled Nursing Center in Carmichael yesterday, March the 29th.
What the future holds for Patrick we are not 100% sure. Without significant improvement in his paralysis it would be difficult for him to return to his home in Sacramento.
Myself and Jeanette will continue to update this site on a semi daily basis. Please send Patrick well wishes through this website at this time. He does not have his phone with him as it is difficult for him to speak and hold the phone.
