At the end of August,  Phil  was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood/bones.  He started chemo treatments right away at the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack and has been doing his best to keep up with his regular daily activities: work, kids activities, sporting events and other things. He will soon have to have a stem cell replacement as part of his treatment.  This major part of his treatment will begin on the 16th of November and continue until after Christmas.  During the weeks of December 12-December 27, he will be in the hospital for this treatment.  Phil will have to undergo another stem cell transplant 3-6 months after the first one is complete.  This is called a tandem transplant and will give him the best chance for a long remission. Phil's doctors have been very pleased with his progress this far and expect him to have excellent results.
