Phil was admitted to the hospital on Monday, February 15, 2021 in acute physical distress due to an undiagnosed condition called achalasia. He had lost over 1/3 of his body weight in a short period of time, and this caused his internal organs a great deal of stress. He fought the good fight, but he couldn't overcome both the physical recover and the broken medical system, and Phil passed away on August 17, 2021.
