Philip Sorrells

First post: May 19, 2021

Philip was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in May of last year. He had plaque radiation treatment on his eye on June 26,2020. At that time they did testing to determine Philip’s likelihood that the cancer would metastasis to other organs (primarily the liver). He fell into the high likelihood category. He was fortunate to qualify for a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston to try and prevent the cancer’s spread. Philip started his treatments in Houston in early November of 2020. From the beginning of this journey he was scanned every three months to make sure the cancer had not spread. Unfortunately, his scans on May 5,2021 showed several spots on his liver.  We returned to Houston on the 12th to have a biopsy of the liver.  We are currently waiting on the results. He will continue treatments until the results come in.
