Phil Hay

First post: Oct 8, 2016 Latest post: May 7, 2018
Phil Hay, my wonderful Kiwi father, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer on October 1, 2016. He visited Georgetown University Hospital with some stomach and side pain, but had no other symptoms. Our whole family is in shock as my younger sister Charlotte is still undergoing treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia. It's very hard to believe this is happening to us once again, but we're very lucky to be surrounded by such loving and supportive friends and family members. My dad will begin chemotherapy and an immunotherapy clinical trial on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Georgetown University Hospital. We've consulted with doctors up and down the East Coast, and this is the best option available for Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer patients because surgery isn't an option. This same clinical trial is also being offered at the top hospitals in Boston, Baltimore, and New York City so we'd like to stay close to home especially as Isabel wraps up her senior year. I, Maddy Hay, will be updating this page so please follow if you'd like to be in the loop. We appreciate all the messages, but my dad will not be admitted to the hospital, so feel free to call and text him with kind words as well, and not just us Hay girls. Thank you.
