Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Phil had neck pain and was not feeling well the week of May 16 and asked Kit, his oldest daughter, to come help him.  He gradually lost strength and control of his limbs until he had a fall. He was admitted on May 23 to Redmond Hospital.  It took a few days, but they determined that he has a staph infection and it has caused an abscess at the top of his spine. He lost his motor control due to this and has been very weak because the infection also got into his blood.  The infection is no longer in his blood, but he continues to spike a fever each afternoon.
An MRI was done today on the abscess to see if it is shrinking.  They are hesitant to drain it because it is so close to the nerves that he could become paralyzed from the procedure.  We have not received the results yet.
Kit and Martha are with him during the day and the nurses are keeping him comfortable at night.  We appreciate your prayers and will pass on any comments left on this website to him.
Love to all!
