Welcome to my CaringBridge site. I've created it to help keep those who are interested up-to-date as I fight Stage 3-A Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. I truly appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement during these trying times. Please be aware that the donations solicited by this site do not go to me. We are fortunate in that we have very good insurance and we are not asking for donations. But also, please be aware that this site is free to me, and is only made possible through support from people such as you. So consider a donation to the CaringBridge site if you can. My story and updates will be in the journal section and I will try my best to keep it current. There you will have the ability to read my whole story and post comments. Feel free to do so and/or ask questions. My cancer is not a secret and I am not afraid to talk about it. The last thing I want to say in this introduction is that I quit smoking cigarettes full-time some 25 years ago, but since then have relapsed a few times and also smoked cigars regularly. While I never inhaled the cigars, I can't say that they did not contribute to my cancer. The doctors can't say for sure either. What I can say with certainty is that I wish I had never smoked cigarettes or cigars. It's more likely than not that I would not have cancer had I never smoked. So if you smoke, please stop. I never thought it would happen to me. But it did. Please, really, stop smoking. You do not want to go through what I am going through. You do not want cancer.
