As many of you dear family and friends know, Peter was diagnosed in 2011 with multiple myeloma, a blood/bone cancer.  Since then, he has received excellent treatment from his oncologist, Eric Seifter, and from Anna and Dawn his two chemo nurses.

Every chemo drug and combination of drugs and biologicals have been tried, but today we learned that none have been effective.  The myeloma has taken the day.  Peter will enter home Hospice this next week.  His life expectancy is between 3 and 6 weeks.

Our choice was Hospice or a rigorous dialysis regimen that would have perhaps added a month or two to his life.  Unfortunately with dialysis these weeks would have been filled with facility treatments 4-5 times a week.  Much of the remaining time would be spent being a dialysis patient.  With Hospice, Peter will be at home enjoying friends and family as much as his energy permits.

And so, dear Ones, we ask for your prayers.  If you have the opportunity, stop by for a brief visit.  Our life has been blessed.  Even now, we know that all must travel this road.  Peter is one of the lucky ones who has a ticket already stamped.

Yes, marriage made in heaven…blessed am I ! Thank you for the blessings of family …of your friendships …and the many kindnesses to us.

Thank you so very much…fondest memories!

With love,
Gail
