This is my third journey through the valley called cancer, since 2016. Starting as HPV throat cancer, it has metastasized to the lungs. I am now receiving an immunotherapy drug, Keytruda, which has re-awakened my immune system to fight the cancer; the results so far show a reduction in the numbers and sizes of the tumors; however, it is not without side effects, which continue. However, through the Grace of Jesus Christ, He has given me His strength and the care and love of family and friends - all of you - to see me through all of these valleys. I could not do it without you... Thank you! Starting in 2019, I have chronicled my journeys. However, most of the journal entries are not just about my medical situation. They are the stories of the people I've met along the way, the love I've received, the many situations I've encountered, thoughts that may impact all of us in life and most of all - the Blessings and Grace shown to me by Christ, to whom I give all thanks and praise for my healing and keeping me in the fight. So, welcome to my Caring Bridge website; it's really OUR Caring Bridge site, because we are a team. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Finally, to all of you who have children and/or are under the age of 45 years old, I ask this one request: Please speak to your doctor about the HPV vaccine; it is safe, effective and will prevent HPV cancer.
