Welcome to our Caring Bridge site for Peter. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope, your prayers and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Our journey started on Friday,  April 17, 2015 the anniversary of my mother's passing of lung cancer 18 years ago. We find that major changes in our lives happen in a pattern.  I know it is God's way of telling us everything is in His divine plan.  It was Friday morning and Peter woke up with a mild rash on his belly and behind his legs and had no other symptoms and often his skin reacts and gets red due to his eczema.  He went to school (was on purple) and had a great day and played outside with his friends Friday evening .  On Saturday morning at 4am Peter woke up with a fever and I thought fever and rash that was a red flag for something going on.  We took him to his pediatrician Saturday morning and they sent us to Children's Hospital immediately. Once in the ER they did a blood test, asked me a million questions and then admitted him due to low blood counts for more testing and the waiting game and building virtue in patience. among many others began.  By Monday afternoon, April 20th they diagnosed Peter with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-ALL.  A leukemia common in children with Down syndrome and highly curable.
