Penny began this battle with colon cancer in November 2014. She had been feeling sporadic pain in her tummy that would start on one side then move across to the other then would disappear after an hour. She wouldn't have the pain again for several weeks or months. In November 2014 she had become constipated for two weeks then began vomiting. At the ER they found that she had a bowel obstruction and she needed emergency surgery. The surgeon suspected athe mass was a malignant tumor and when the pathology came back his suspension was confirmed that she had Stage 4 colon cancer.
