Thanks for visiting - we are going to try to use this as a way to inform everyone of what is going on.
Mom had surgery on Thursday July 21st to have her aortic valve and a portion of her aorta replaced. All was going well until she got back to her room, where she experienced a heart attack. She was taken back to the OR for a second surgery to do a bypass. On Friday, she was having issues clotting, and was losing blood, so the surgeon made the decision to take her to the operating room for a third time to see if they could find the bleeding issues. They found places where blood was oozing from the sutures of the bypasses. Now she is in the cardiac ICU, and since the last surgery, the bleeding has ceased and she is critical but stable. She had a very calm night last night, and the surgeon's plan from here is to continue what they are currently doing for now, and maybe start making some changes tomorrow depending on how things progress today. I will try to update as we have more information. We are so thankful for all the prayers and good wishes we have received!
