Thank you for visiting.     Ever start on one road and end up on another?   Well, that's what has happened this week.    My darling brother, John, had a massive heart attack in January.  After quite a long hospital stay he is home with his wonderful wife, Linda, and doing well.     I started thinking about the heart disease of our parents, now my little brother, and thought I should look into my heart health.    I highly recommend a CTI calcium test (best $99 I've spent), it showed a high level of calcium deposits in my arteries.   Next step was an echo-stress test; this showed some abnormalities.   After the consultation with Dr. Erin Galbraith, a cardiologist, she prescribed an invasive angioplasty.   If needed, she would place balloons/stints as needed.   I completed that test yesterday.    Big surprise--I need a triple bypass.     Have much more blockage than anyone thought.   So far, I haven't awoken from this crazy dream.      Surgery is set for this Thursday, June 18 at either 7:30a.m. or 11:30a.m.;depending on the anesthesalogist's availability at St. Joe's.    I've been on the caregiver side of three open heart surgeries--our son John, so now I get to experience on the patient side.   Three for John, three for me.     I'm going for the trifecta!!!!!    I would appreciate your prayers for the surgical team, hospital staff and myself, I feel your love.       Zipper club here I come!!!!!
