Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, our lives were turned upside down.  Mom was scheduled for a biopsy of a ping pong ball size mass.  On Monday night I spoke with her and she was feeling fine.  She said she felt everything was going to be okay and she had a peace about the biopsy.  Dad got up on Tuesday morning to take her for the biopsy.  When they got her into Imagecare, she couldn't tell them her name or birthday.  They went ahead with the procedure.   My dad called me after it was over to tell me they wanted her to go to Providence Northeast for tests.  I took them over for the tests.  The MRI showed she had had a stroke.  They transported her by ambulance to Palmetto Richland.  She was there for a week.  While there we received the results from the biopsy.  She has pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver.  They believe this is what has caused the stroke.  The stroke has left her with some memory and speech problems and some balance issues.  She was released from the hospital on Monday, March 6th.  She is at home and will receive all of her therapy there.

She will begin Chemo at SCOA on Monday, March 13th.  The goal is to slow down the cancer and possibly shrink it.  There is no surgery that can be done.

We have already seen God work in so many ways.  Had the biopsy not been scheduled, my dad would have gone to work like normal and mom would have been at home alone with the stroke.  My parents were scheduled to be in Disney World on March 9th.  Praising God that it didn't happen while they were down there alone.

Our family's Faith is strong and we are continuing to pray for healing.  God is our ultimate Physician and we know that He loves her as much as we do.

Please be in prayer for my mom as she continues to heal from the stroke and begins her cancer treatments.  Pray for my dad as he helps care for her.  It is so hard to see someone who was so healthy going thru this.

Also pray for the family:  Debbie &  Charles.  kids:   Faith, Taylor, CJ
Traci & Mike.  kids:  Noah, Brock
Glen Jr. & Stevie.  kids:  Eva, Crawford, Rachel, Rhett and baby due May 1st.

I'll post updates as she goes thru treatments.

Miracles can happen!!
Debbie
