As many of you know, for the last while Mom has been battling stage 4 kidney failure due to diabetes. In August, she was rushed to the hospital with difficulty breathing. It was determined that she had sepsis and pneumonia. She was stable when we left her late that evening but in a few hours we were called back up and told she'd had a heart attack.  By the time we got back to the hospital Mom was on a ventilator. The doctors did not give us much hope but after 2 weeks she was able to come home.
Progress was slow but she was gaining some ground. Then, on February 9th, she was rushed once again to the ER with a GI bleed. They did not expect her to make it through the night but once again she proved them wrong.  After a few weeks of rehabilitation at the Brian Center, she was able to come home.
On April 6th, Mom was taken back to the hospital and it was discovered at that time that she had an infection in her hands and in her bloodstream.  She is being treated for the infection and she is responding to treatment. However she is getting weaker and we covet your prayers in the days ahead.
