On January 12th, I was officially diagnosed with multiple myeloma. It seems to have come on rather suddenly. Blood work done in April 2016 showed nothing abnormal. I began to have some back pain when school started, but didn't think anything about it. In November, I was coughing a lot and went to Express Care. They did a chest x-ray and diagnosed me with pneumonia and gave me antibiotics, which helped some but not a lot. By Christmas I was really tired and in pain, especially in my rib cage. I went back to the doctor and had another chest x-ray, which showed nothing. I slept a lot over the holidays and just did not feel well. I had trouble breathing and went to the ER on January 3rd where I learned that I had kidney failure. It took a lot of testing and waiting to finally get the diagnosis.
