Three and 1/2 weeks ago Mom was loving life kayaking on Lake Hartwell and tending her beautiful yard!  Three weeks ago she flew to Indiana to have a mental health workshop and on the last day there she woke up with excruciating pain in her upper back.  She flew home and after a week in pain, I finally took her to the chiropractor on Tuesday the 6th.  He put a vertebrae back in place and she cried on the table..😢 he said she would be really sore the next day and she was! On Thursday the pain was unbearable so we went to urgent care.  They sent us straight to ER with the amount of pain she was in.  At the ER they did x-rays and found a fracture in T5.  She was referred to an orthopedic surgeon and she tried to get in to one in Hartwell, but one look at the x-ray and he referred her on to a neurological surgeon here in Athens.  We met the dr there on Tuesday the 13th and discussed surgery to repair the fractured vertebrae. He scheduled an MRI for the next day and Becky Dyck took her to the appointment.  The next day, I took her back to the dr and he informed us that there are lesions on  2  more vertebrae’s, and we were sent straight to the hospital for a cancer work up..CT scan showed holes in quite a few bones and another fracture in her shoulder.  Also spots on her lungs and in her sternum.  She had an MRI today of her brain to see if there is cancer there also..Tomorrow, Monday the 19th they will be doing a biopsy to see where it’s coming from.  Hoping to leave the hospital either tomorrow or Tuesday with hospice in place.
She is in good spirits but wishes for lots of prayers for pain management.. with the fractures and all the pain in her bones, her biggest fear is the suffering from pain..we have felt your prayers and love and we thank you for all for caring …
